A close cousin to the famous ‘Polar Bear Plunge’, the Warm Soapy Water Plunge is fast becoming the latest trend in winter fun. Its creator, Larry Bither, talked to the Canadianer about why he started the annual challenge. “For one thing, your friggin’ nuts don’t explode out of the top of your friggin’ head when you hit the water!” Explained Bither. “Also, there’s a welcome lack of hypothermic shock when your arse hits a lilac scented soaker tub with water at the most perfect temperature you could imagine.” So far there are no charitable organizations involved but many scented candle companies have offered to sponsor the event.
