Toronto -

“Did you think we were going to sit around and watch Run the Burbs?” Chuckled one prime-time executive, while cashing a bonus check at an ATM adjacent to the food court. “I got hooked up with Crave and all the Sports Channels. It’s awesome.” When asked what his duties entailed as an executive at the publicly funded network, his response was, to say the least, obtuse. “It’s more about what I don’t do. It’s about knowing how to appear to be relevant, while doing nothing, or at least very little, how to suss out who’s important, and more importantly, who will be important.” There are over 7500 such executives in Toronto alone. There are 5 programs currently on the air that aren’t re-runs, these shows, which will get two years on the air to keep hair and make up working. Then they’ll be nominated for a CSA award the same year they’re cancelled. “It’s a tradition!” Mused the executive, “This is all off the record right? Plus you’re buying lunch yes?”
